Save Money and the Earth

Our mission in this company is to stay out of the landfill by recycling everything possible. Businesses and individuals contact us daily to go to various locations and haul their unwanted items. There are many different ways we can all recycle. Here is a list of things we do, and places we use to recycle properly.

IREP Resells everything possible

Online Resale

Our number one way of recycling is storing anything we haul that may have some value, then reselling it back to the local community. We take pictures, measurements, asses and note any damages, then post it on our square sight for people to browse through. If you’re willing to travel to us, then we will sell you anything, and it’s free to pick-up.

We can deliver items within our work radius and charge a flat fee. It’s like a thrift shop, or garage sale, but you don’t have to leave your house (unless you’ve scheduled a pick-up), interact with anyone (except pick-ups and deliveries you may meet 1-2 people), or get up early (with the exception of your own early appointments).

We also post on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Shops on Facebook & Instagram, Products on Google, and on Austin Materials Marketplace.

If you like online clothes shopping, we have a Poshmark closet that anyone can buy stuff and support us from wherever you are, as long as Poshmark delivers (at least anywhere in the U.S).

Recycling Facilities

The number one place we use is the Austin Resource Recovery Center. Sure, any citizen can drop stuff off there, but if it’s a lot and some big materials, why not let us do the work for you? At times there can be waits, and appointment dates. Avoid the hassle and let us handle it. ARRC is the way we are able to take some of your items like paint, chemicals, batteries and more. It’s one of the best services the city offers.

Another facility we take recyclables is Texas Disposal Systems. We bring a lot of our metal over there regularly. There are a few other places we can use depending on our location. The Recycling Center, and Green Guys Recycling are good places to go. Find out more about Austin Recycling to discover best ways and how our city works.

IREP donates everything possible

Donations

When we store things for long periods at our own facilities, we make posts about giving away free items. That will keep things out of the landfill, and it finds a home a lot quicker. At the same time we are able to meet more people and talk about what we do. We post “free stuff” on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace, as well as Buy Nothing groups, Humane Society, and local thrift shops. Books go to an independent source we know, or Half Priced Books. Some items may go to Goodwill on occasion out of necessity, but we prefer to stay independent and local as much as we can.
